I was born and raised in Minnesota, graduated from Mankato State University in 1988 with my degree in dental hygiene. I knew in middle school that I wanted to work in the dental field as my mom was an assistant for many years. I always LOVED going to the dentist! I love skiing, traveling, working in the yard, and walking the dogs. My favorite activity though is anything that involves spending time with my husband, 3 sons, daughter-in-law and the newest addition to our family, granddaughter Ryah!
I am the second oldest of four daughters (and the shortest). I am married to my high school sweetheart, Erik, who is an elementary PE teacher. We are both Colorado Springs Natives, but we’re huge Detroit Lions fans…since 2008 and 2016. We travel back to Michigan a couple of times a year to visit family and watch the Lions play! I love to run half marathons, play pickleball, weight lift/powerlift, and snowboard. I’ve worked here for 4 years! I love being a dental assistant, but I’m pursuing dental hygiene school!
I was born in Illinois but have lived most of my life in Colorado. I was in the Air Force and stationed at Peterson Air Force Base for four years back in the 90’s. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 22 years and we have two teenage boys, a special needs dog, a cat, and a cockatiel.
My Bucket List: to stay in an over-the-water bungalow at a tropical destination
Fun Fact: I got to swim with a dolphin in the ocean in Isla Mujeras, Mexico.
Hobbies: I like to scrapbook, be creative, watch romance movies, play games, volunteer, and spend time with my family and friends.
I was born and raised in Illinois. I married my high school sweetheart, we have been married for 26 years. I have 2 children, Mason and Ava. Mason is 19 years old and a sophomore in college. Ava is 16 years old and a junior in high school. I received my Dental Hygiene degree from Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois. I have been a hygienist for 26 years and I love what I do! Item from my bucket list: I hope to one day visit Greece. Hobbies: Reading, skiing, and enjoying the outdoors. Fun Fact: I spend my summers traveling with my daughter for softball.
To help put things in perspective, The Colorado Dental Association licensure requires 30 hours of continuing dental education every TWO years. Dr. Sheila Hartle averages over 100 hours of continuing dental education in ONE year.
Dr. Hartle is committed to staying at the forefront of dental education. She regularly attends lectures and is a member of several prestigious study clubs. These study clubs are composed of both general dentist small business owners like herself and a collective group of specialists from each facet of dentistry in the Springs. These selective groups provide pertinent dental education, community, and accountability in the dental field.
How does this help her patients?
These study clubs allow Dr. Hartle to stay on top of cutting-edge dental treatment, new techniques, products, and comprehensive ways to better serve her patients. Also, her involvement in these organizations allows her to network with some of the best specialists in town. When needed, she partners with the right specialist for her patients’ treatments to provide them with a cohesive team of dental providers and holistic dental care. She regularly communicates with the specialty providers and sees them at monthly local meetings to discuss treatment options best suited for her patients. As a family business owner and health care provider, her patient’s understanding of their treatment and all possible options is a top priority. Communication with her patients is essential, so no person or treatment discussed gets lost in the shuffle of referrals and appointments.
Dr. Hartle’s mission is to provide conservative and compassionate care with excellent results. In light of this, she and the incredible team at Hartle Family Dentistry pay personal attention to every patient. She recognizes that dental appointments can be stressful for patients.
